Everything you didn't want to know about Into the Pan is listed right here on this page! Our About Us FAQ!
Q. Who is this "we" you're always referring to?
A. Sorry, but we're pretentiously trying to portray an army of designers. Unfortunately they would all have to fit into a 60-inch space in my bedroom. In answer to your question, then - it's just little ole me.
Q. Bedroom, eh? And...what are you wearing??
A. There's nothing to get excited about. I'm a flannel shirt and sweat pants kinda gal. You can usually find me wearing a smile.
Q. How do you manage to manage so many different aspects of your business? Does this mean you're not focused?
A. Um, and...yes. I'm too tired to address most of that, but I work hard - like, 24/7 - and I have a ton of satisfied customers. Isn't "food" focused enough?!? I love food. My customers love food. So far it's working out great!
Q. How did you get started?
A. I started out as a personal chef (plug for Chef Margaret! ), but that kind of work involves a lot of lugging equipment and groceries around. I've always been a doodler, so I began making logos for all the other chefs I know and everything else just magically happened one day over a period of years. I still do the cheffing thing, as it's the only time I ever get to cook anymore. As far as starting Into the Pan goes, I began making handmade note cards with no particular subject in mind. It's only when I had a BIG DUH and decided to make food my main subject matter that things came together.
Q. I have a financial business, but I really love your work. Can you make me something cool?
A. No.
Q. Why are your design services so cheap? Is your work not up to standard?
A. I work smart as well as hard. Having a niche design business means that all the ideas I have can be used by someone, whether it's by my customers, me, or my shops. Viva la Commercialism! In other words, I save a lot of time by keeping within the same subject matter, and time is money. I could certainly run out of ideas sitting around talking to myself all day. My beloved slave-driving customer base keeps me hopping. (Special "Thanks!" to my slave-driving customers! They love me, too - honest! Check out my customer kudos page!)
Q. Where did you go to school?
A. I could write a long, boring book about why I don't like school. "Boredom" would be the entire plot. I would be bored writing it, and you would be bored reading it.
Q. What are your plans for Into the Pan for the next coupla years?
A. I'm so glad you asked that, Mysterious Question Asker! Except that if I say it on a public forum like this, someone will steal my idea. So you'll just have to wait.
5/23/07 - I was just notified that this logo was selected - out of, I dunno, hundreds of thousands of logos (actually, more like just a couple thousand) - for inclusion in Logo Lounge Volume 4, which is a huge book of logo examples from designers everywhere. I'm greatly honored! Here's the "winner" (copyright Dinner at Six):
